Breakthrough batteries could ‘change the world’
Brisbane-based company Li-S Energy is pinning its hopes on a new lithium-sulphur battery, which lasts longer and is lighter than normal lithium-ion batteries, to help transform the way we charge everything from electric cars and drones to mobile phones.
Ahead of a listing on the ASX next month, Li-S Energy director Robin Levison, who is also executive chairman of another Brisbane company PPK Group, said the next-generation lithium technology, developed by Deakin University, would have global applications.
